ABOUT US

At Moving Body Arts, we bring expertise in movement, fights, and intimacy practice to theatre, dance, opera, TV, film, and site specific performances. Since our beginnings in 2014 as Moving Playground, we have grown from running specialist workshops and training opportunities to delivering professional services for productions. Our co-directors draw on their extensive experience across the creative industries when curating, teaching, or working professionally, bringing their multi-disciplinary skills and collaborative spirit to every project.

Our work covers the following specialisms:
Intimacy Coordination For Screen
Intimacy Direction For Stage
Fight Direction
Movement Direction & Coaching
Creative Storytelling Through The Body
We draw on our expertise and artistry to bring the physical world of characters to life. We aim to create movement, intimacy and stage fights that deepen the emotional journey and enrich the vision of the production.

Knowledge Transfer & Expansion
We design and programme workshops, events and sessions where participants can up-skill, learn afresh and expand the possible.

Integrate Movement Practices
Movement is in everything and everywhere. We are excited by how forms of performative movement can be integrated to create story, emotion and audience experience.

Support Artist Discovery & Wellbeing
Mental health, isolation and fear of rejection are just a few of what artists battle with on a daily basis. We plan workshops and events to help artist wellbeing, embodiment and promote social engagement.

Yarit’s journey began as a dancer and is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. After graduating, she performed with Hagit Yakira Dance Company from 2007-2009, later stepping into the role of dance dramaturg until 2011. Her deep interest in physical theatre and embodied storytelling led her to complete an MA in Theatre Directing at Rose Bruford College, followed by the two-year programme in Jacques Lecoq’s Physical Theatre & Devising at LISPA (now Arthaus Berlin). From there, she expanded her practice as a movement director and deviser across theatre, dance, and performance art.
In 2013, she became a BASSC-certified stage combat teacher and began working also as a fight director, weaving her movement expertise into the discipline and helping to broaden the scope of fight direction.
