About the Event

This workshop will explore how trauma informed practices can be integrated into the work of intimacy directors and fight directors working in theatrical spaces.

Aimed At:

Open to those with some experience working as intimacy directors and/or fight directors. Also open to stage combat teachers and intimacy/movement teachers supporting higher education productions or studio sharings.

This is not an introductory level workshop in intimacy direction or fight direction.

Recording - Moving Body Arts does not offer workshop recordings if you cannot attend. We ask that people enlist only if they can commit to be present online since our workshops may include exercises and non-attendance affects student engagement and group learning.

Trainer:

Yarit Dor (MA, PGDip, PGCLTHE)

Is a Co-Director and Lead Trainer of Moving Body Arts.

She is amongst the first generation of intimacy directors in the UK and originated the 'intimacy director' credit on London's West End. In addition, Yarit is an established fight director and BASSC Certified Stage Combat Teacher. She interweaves her training in dance, Lecoq physical theatre and movement into her fight directing style. Her productions have included many sensitive scenes including violence, torture, death and intimate action. She is especially interested in supporting material that requires extreme emotional explorations. Yarit has worked for 10+ years in bodywork & physical wellbeing methods for which she studied Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She is currently studying herbalism and somatics.

Theatre/Dance credits include: Hamilton (West End), Hadestown (West End), Punchdrunk (The Burnt City), Peaky Blinders (Rambert Dance), Death Trap (Rambert Dance), Othello (Shakespeares Globe), A Room With A View (Headlong), Daddy A Melodrama (Almeida), Hamlet, Much Ado and As You Like It  (Shakespeares Globe) amongst others.
